They will be showcasing original art and prints from Ray Harryhausen, Ray Bradbury, Greg Hildebrandt, John Kricfalusi, Berkeley Breathed, Maurice Sendak, as well as works from the 1933 “King Kong” film and Disney Studios. They will also be introducing new limited edition prints from “King Kong,” Ray Bradbury and Ray Harryhausen, who will be appearing at the booth on Saturday, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

“We are very excited about this year’s Comic-Con because we have such an exceptional variety of works from leading fantasy illustrators, and to have Ray Harryhausen as our guest is also very special,” said Lee Cohen, who has been curating comic book art for over 18 years and co-founded Every Picture Tells a Story with his wife, Lois Sarkisian. Their gallery has been a destination for comic book enthusiasts and children’s book art collectors since 1989. They represent over 80 artists and illustrators including Dr. Seuss, Walt Disney Studio Art, Richard Scarry, Greg Hildebrandt, Berkeley Breathed, Tim Burton, Clive Barker, Mo Willems, Maurice Sendak, Hilary Knight, Garth Williams, David Shannon, Rosemary Wells, Chris Van Allsburg, Ralph Steadman and many others.Originally showcasing comic books, Comic-Con has expanded to include a larger range of pop culture elements, such as science fiction, fantasy, horror, anime, collectible card games, video games, television, and movies. The convention is the largest of its kind in the

US, and last year it filled the San Diego Convention Center to capacity with 125,000 attendees. “We have been very involved with Comic-Con for a number of years and we are happy to see that it is becoming more recognized each year,” said Cohen. In fact, an episode from the popular HBO series, “Entourage” was set there last year (though not actually filmed there). Cohen and Sarkisian have worked with many celebrity clients who collect children’s book art and comic art, among them are Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Harrison Ford, Allison Janney, Drew Barrymore, Joel Silver, JJ Abrams, and many animators and producers like James Cameron and Steven Spielberg. Some of the gallery’s pieces have been included in a traveling exhibition with The Museum of Tolerance.
