32nd ANNUAL HARMONY FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES COMPLETE MUSIC LINE-UP PLUS KEYNOTE SPEAKERS AND THE RETURN OF THE ECO RALLY ACTION SPORTS SKATE ZONE

Sonoma County Fairgrounds, Santa Rosa, CA June 11-13, 2010

Celebrating 32 years with a mission to support progressive social values, sacred community activism, trans-partisan politics, and conscious uplifting music, the producers are very pleased to announce the confirmed program line-up for the 2010 Harmony Festival, to be held the weekend of June 11, 12, and 13 at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, California.

With world-class performers, a global marketplace featuring more than 300 vendors and 30,000+ attendees, the Harmony Festival is the West Coast’s premier outdoor music and progressive lifestyle festival. Harmony thrives by promoting the values of music, art, ecology, healthy living and spirituality as the keys to creating abundant communities and a vibrant planet. Repeat winner of The Bohemian’s Best Festival and Best Music Festival Sonoma annual reader awards, Harmony takes place annually in Santa Rosa, recently named California’s #1 “happiest and healthiest” place to live, and the country’s fifth overall in healthy behavior*.

The 2010 headline music roster features a very special performance by multiple Grammy award-winning singer Lauryn Hill, UK-based Reggae legends Steel Pulse, New Orleans funk and jazz jam sextet Galactic, and a trio of West Coast DUB/ Rock/Reggae pioneers who are creating a new wave of socially-conscious music: Slightly Stoopid, beach reggae band Rebelution, and surf skate punks The Expendables. As always, classic rock is represented on the roster and 2010 includes a unique presentation of the music of Frank Zappa performed by his son Dweezil Zappa Plays Zappa, and the North Bay debut of 7 Walkers, a new band led by Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann, among many more bands to be announced soon.

The 2010 initial key speaker roster includes internationally acclaimed “new thought” leaders including Dr. Bruce Lipton, a pioneer in bridging science and spirit; renowned mycologist Paul Stamets, visionary activist Caroline Casey, best-selling author Dan Millman, Peak Oil theorist and author Mike Ruppert, world-renowned saint and divine guide Pujya Swami Chidanandji, alchemical healer Nicki Scully, and political satirist, “cosmic comic” Swami Beyondananda.

Celebrating its 11th year, Mystic Beat Lounge continues to co-produce the Harmony After Dark programming with two nights of stellar entertainment. Recognized far and wide as the greatest dance and performance art extravaganza in the North Bay, these events are sure to make history.

This year’s Harmony After Dark Friday night line-up features a reggae, hip-hop and dubstep extravaganza with Steel Pulse, Brass Bows & Beats Hip Hop Symphony (featuring Lyrics Born & Chali 2NA) in Grace Pavilion and DJs Mimosa, Ana Sia, Ill Gates, Dr. Dylon and Ini in Harmony Hall. Saturday Night boasts The Legendary Techno-Tribal Community Dance in Grace Pavilion featuring Tipper, Ott, Galactic with Chali 2NA & Lyrics Born, Beats Antique and Lynx & Janover. Plus mind-blowing stage performances by Troupe Luminesque, Liquid Fire Mantra, Phoenix Rising, Satya Bellydance and many more fire dancers, aerialists and performance troupes!

In addition to the Main Stage and After Dark lineups, there will also be an array of dynamic performances in the Harmony Hall, including a sacred music program Saturday night featuring Jai Uttal and Snatam Kaur, as well as exotic escapades on the Goddess Temple Stage and downtempo vibe in the Harmony Tea House.

Returning in 2010 is the festival’s newest breakout attraction, The Eco Rally Action Sports Zone (formerly Eco Cup), featuring continuous skateboarding, contests and a public street course (BYO Board), and live music by skate rock legends Fishbone, rising stars The Expendables, plus a rare semi-acoustic performance by Slightly Stoopid and other very special guests. The Eco Rally brings a positive message and eco-awareness to action sports fans in the North Bay and beyond. Get involved, activate and go skate!
Many more special performers, and dozens of local bands plus workshops, will be confirmed and announced soon. The complete schedule and talent line-up will be announced April 1 on www.HarmonyFestival.com  , via media e-blast, the Harmony Connection newsletter, Twitter and Facebook. Final line-up is subject to change.

But there is even more news to announce beyond just the exciting talent line-up: Harmony Festival, one of first progressive green music festivals in the country, has opened new offices in Rohnert Park’s Sonoma Mountain Business Cluster sustainable community. Endorsed by the World Wildlife Fund and founded on One Planet principles, SOMO is the first North American green community, a 200-acre, mixed-use, solar-powered, zero-waste, green non-profit business incubator, and only the fourth in the world endorsed by the prestigious international One Planet Communities program. Harmony Festival CEO Howard “Bo” Sapper explains, “The model that we create and the values we express at our festival one weekend each June is mirrored 24/7 by the SOMO community. We are proud to be the newest member of this working, replicable environment. To our team, it is like ‘coming home’”.

Attracting over 30,000 people annually, Harmony Festival invites everyone to support a positive planetary shift to create a new world inclusive of all.
