METRONOMY SHARES NEW SONG “WEDDING BELLS” METRONOMY FOREVER

British five-piece Metronomy shares a new song from their upcoming album Metronomy Forever. “Wedding Bells” is a brilliant anthem that conjures the mood of the classic John Hughes film era through shimmering cinematic overtones. A track that revels in American sound whilst remaining true to the band’s idiosyncratic British roots.

The song follows previous singles “Walking In The Dark,” “Salted Caramel Ice Cream,” and “Lately” and arrives ahead of their first full UK/EU headlining tour this Fall. Beginning October 9th in France, they’ll play 21 shows across the UK and Europe before ending November 16th in the UK.  All dates and ticket details are available here

Metronomy Forever is due September 13th and is an album about time and its simultaneously finite and eternal nature. Made after frontman Joseph Mount moved from the bustling cityscapes of Paris to a calm residence in the English countryside, the album is a visceral reflection of his transition. Spanning 17 songs, the album glides seamlessly between glistening ambient tracks to shimmering rock to funk-fueled pop. A gentle reminder to embrace the full spectrum of the human experience told through the band’s signature sparkling indie-pop lens. Metronomy Forever is the band’s first in three years and follows 2016’s Summer 08 and Mount’s expansive production work on Robyn’s critically-acclaimed full-length, Honey.

Speaking about the album Mount says:“What happens is when you’re making music and you enter a world where you have achieved some sort of celebrity no matter how large or small you start to think about yourself in terms of legacy and what you’re going to leave behind and then you realise that’s limited to the interest people have in you. In the end I feel completely comfortable with it. The less importance you place in any art the more interesting it can become in a way…I’m making music, I’m going to do some concerts, I need to feed my children.”
